Delphix Reporting Functions and Flash EOL (KBA6915)

KBA

KBA# 6915

Issue

As of January 12, 2021, Adobe will actively block Flash content from running in Flash Player. The impact of Adobe Flash EOL was broadcast on the Delphix Community in December:

https://community.delphix.com/blogs/michael-torok/2020/12/28/impacts-of-adobe-flash-end-of-life-delphix-virtual

https://community.delphix.com/blogs/michael-torok/2020/12/28/end-of-life-notice-for-delphix-reporting-and-speci

Additionally, all registered Support contacts received email notification of this impact.

As such, some functions in the Delphix Reporting UI may no longer be available:

These buttons correspond with:

  • Copy report content
  • Export as CSV
  • Export as PDF

The expected result after Flash EOL occurs will render as:

Resolution

As discussed in the Community post related to Delphix Reporting, there are a few workarounds available:

1. Email reports can be scheduled, and also run on-demand. Once an email report schedule is configured, it can also be executed on-demand by clicking the Send Now button on the right-hand side of the Email Reports table:

2. Report content can be collected via API, though it cannot be exported in CSV or PDF format. Details of leveraging the Reporting API can be found in the following Knowledge Base article:

https://support.delphix.com/Delphix_Reporting/KBA1734_Delphix_Reporting_(Formerly_Mission_Control)_Web_Service_API_Guide

Unfortunately, there is no equivalent Web API call for these legacy Export functions.

3. Reports can still be viewed on-demand through the Web UI, and the content can be manually cut+paste, or printed to PDF from the Browser.
