How to Uninstall a Version of Delphix with a Hotfix Applied
You may have been supplied a hotfix by Delphix Support to resolve a product issue or to enable enhanced diagnostics
If you were supplied a hotfix that could be self installed, you may find that you need to uninstall it, without upgrading to a later version.
To Uninstall a Version of Delphix with a Hotfix Applied
- Determine whether the hotfix was installed via the upgrade method or manually by a Delphix Support engineer. Options for doing so are:
- Through the GUI, the version name will be Version x.x.x.x - HF-XXXX, see screenshot
- Through the sysadmin CLI, eg:
kba9911> /system/version/ kba9911 system version> ls Objects REFERENCE NAME STATUS OSRUNNING BUILDDATE INSTALLDATE HOTFIXVERSION UPGRADE_VERSION-1 `UPGRADE_VERSION-1/6.0.14.0 PREVIOUS - - 2023-02-22T09:48:43.000Z - UPGRADE_VERSION-2 `UPGRADE_VERSION-2/6.0.14.0 RUNNING - 2023-02-22T11:14:41.579Z 2023-02-22T13:01:57.854Z HF-9999 kba9911.dcol2 system version>
- To check for manual hotfixes, you can execute the following through the admin or sysadmin CLI and any hotfix not found in options a) or b) will be a manually added hotfix:
kba9911> /system kba9911 system> get hotfixes [HF-9999, HF-8888] kba9911 system>
- If the hotfix was applied using the upgrade method, you can effectively uninstall the hotfix by upgrading to the same based version. For example, if the version installed is 6.0.14.0 - HF-9999, you can uninstall it by upgrading to 6.0.14.0.
If the hotfix was applied manually by a Delphix Support engineer, you must raise a support case if you wish to uninstall it.
Note: The upgrade logic when upgrading to a later version will automatically determine if the bug resolved in the current version by the hotfix is fixed in the upgrade target version. Raising a pre-emptive support case to determine this is not required.
You can verify whether bug fixes are included in specific versions by referring to the Delphix documentation, Continuous Data - Fixed Issues and Continuous Compliance - Fixed Issues
