What Is Phonehome and How to Enable or Disable (KBA1333)

What is Phonehome

Phonehome will periodically have the Delphix Engine (this applies to both Continuous Compliance Engines and Continuous Data Engines) send supportability information to the Delphix Support site over HTTPS. This feature requires a connection to the internet and will use the Web Proxy Server configuration if specified. Phonehome is not required by Delphix but does provide some basic information such as the number of objects on your engine, storage savings, type of database source, number of processors et cetera. Delphix uses this data for information gathering purposes only.

How to enable Phonehome using the UI?

You can either enable phonehome during initial install:

During initial installation: select Phone Home Service enabled

or after installation:

Log in to the Sysadmin Application.
On the menu Outbound Connectivity, click on Modify If the Phone Home section is set as Disabled.
To turn on the Phone Home functionality, check Enable phone home service and click Save.
