Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a Standalone Server

Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a Standalone Server installs a limited version of Oracle Cluster Ready Services to facilitate using ASM on a single host. When adding this type of host to Delphix several issues may be encountered, depending on how the host is added.

Added as a Cluster

When adding this type of host as a cluster, it will fail with the following error:

Command "/u01/app/19.0.0.0/grid/bin/crsctl query crs activeversion" failed with output "Parse error:
'crs' is an invalid argument

Brief usage:
crsctl query has releaseversion
Lists the Oracle Clusterware release version

crsctl query has softwareversion
Lists the version of Oracle Clusterware software installed on the local node

crsctl query has releasepatch
Lists the Oracle Clusterware release patch level

crsctl query has softwarepatch
Lists the patch level of Oracle Clusterware software installed on the local host

Suggested Action
Diagnose why the command failed for user "oracle" and refresh the environment.

The CRS version included with "Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a Standalone Server" does not support some of the cluster commands Delphix issues during discovery.

 

Important:

Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a Standalone Server hosts should not be added to Delphix as a Cluster, rather they should be added as a standalone host.
