Adding an Oracle Cluster Environment With a Long Environment Name Fails With cluster.crsClusterName: The string must not be more than 15 characters long (KBA9144)

Issue

While adding an Exadata source environment (RAC on Linux) to the Continuous Data Engine, the following error occurs: The string must not be longer than 15 characters.

Resolution

Specify an Environment Name shorter than 15 characters during RAC environment creation. Once environment discovery completes, the name should be set to the RAC cluster name found in the environment. After that point, the Environment Name can be set to a value longer than 15 characters.
