Impact
Failures when enabling VDBs on affected versions of the Delphix Engine in Microsoft Azure to Windows target hosts. The problem occurs as a result of non-unique iSCSI Qualified Name target assignments, which in turn may result in conflicts when enabling VDBs on a Delphix Engine in Azure.
Contributing Factors
Delphix Dynamic Data Platform originally deployed on 5.3.x (up to 5.3.3.1) via Azure Marketplace or Virtual Hard Drive (VHD) from download.delphix.com.
VDB provisioned to Windows host via iSCSI (vFiles, SQL Server, or other RDBMS platform enabled via EDSI (Extensible Data Source Integration)).
Resolution
Engines initially deployed on versions prior to 5.3.x.x. are unaffected. The issue is fully resolved in the Delphix 5.3.4.0 distribution; new installations with this version or later will not be affected. Upgrade to 5.3.4.0 from an affected version does not resolve the behavior, however.
A workaround is available to correct this behavior. Please open a support case at support.delphix.com to have the Azure IQN Workaround applied to the affected Engine(s).
Troubleshooting
The following messages may be observed during VDB enablement when affected:
CREATE FILE encountered operating system error 2 (The system cannot find the file specified.) while attempting to open or create the physical file
Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Version 10.0 Build 14393
Failed to remove persistent login information.
