Issue
When you log into the Delphix Engine Administration UI and navigate to Resources > Storage Capacity, the amount reported for Total Capacity is smaller than the amount shown for the DATA storage section in the Delphix Engine System Setup UI.
For example:
The 2.88TB total shown above is less than the 3.00TB shown below for the enabled storage devices.
Reason
The Delphix filesystem requires a small percentage of the space on the assigned storage devices for metadata and other internal administration purposes. This space is withheld from the total storage capacity and is similar to the concept of "formatted capacity" for other filesystems. The percentage of the total space that this represents will vary according to the size of the storage pool, with large pools likely to show a discrepancy of 1% or less.
This is normal and should be considered when making your storage forecast calculations.
