Uploading an Upgrade Image to a Delphix Engine (KBA1010)

How to Upload an Upgrade Image 

Prior to a Delphix upgrade, you are required to upload the upgrade image onto your engines. In order to perform this procedure, you must have access to the sysadmin account.

Prerequisites

You must have access to the sysadmin username and password.

This is applicable to Delphix Engine version 4.2.x and newer only,

To upload and upgrade image

Upgrade files are available on the Delphix download site. The procedure for uploading an upgrade version to the Delphix Engine is specific to releases.

Pre-5.2:
  1. Download an upgrade version from the Delphix download site to a directory that is visible from the host running the web browser.
  2. Login to the Server Setup application.
  3. Click View in the System Upgrade Management panel.
  4. Click the (purple) Up arrow to upload a new version.
    A file dialog will popup.
  5. Select the upgrade version you downloaded from the download site.

Once the file has been uploaded to the Delphix Engine, it will be unpacked in the background and ultimately displayed in the list of versions on the left-hand side of the System Upgrade Management screen.

5.2+:
  1. Download an upgrade version from the Delphix download site to a directory that is visible from the host running the web browser.
  2. Login to the Server Setup application.
  3. In the Upgrade panel, click View.
  4. To upload a new version, click the + (Plus Sign) next to Upgrade Images.
    A file dialog will popup.
  5. Select the upgrade version you downloaded from the download site.

Once the file has been uploaded to the Delphix Engine, it will be unpacked and verified in the background and ultimately displayed in the list of versions on the left-hand side of the Upgrade screen.
